The Genos Emotional Intelligence Development Assessment

What it is: The Genos Emotional Intelligence Development Assessment is a 70 question multi-rater (i.e., 360 degree) measure of how often an individual demonstrates emotionally intelligent workplace behavior. It measures how often people demonstrate the seven skills of our model of emotional intelligence in the workplace. A self-assessment only version is also available.

What is it used for: Predominantly leadership development and internal talent benchmarking or identification.

How is it used: Most organizations use this assessment at the commencement of leadership development programs to provide insight into current levels of emotional intelligence and how to improve it. Development can be tailored to results. It is also used at the conclusion of development programs to measure the impact or effectiveness of the development intervention.

How it is completed: It is completed online via our web-enabled assessment platform. It takes approximately 15 minutes to complete.

The Genos Emotional Intelligence Recruitment Assessment

What it is: The Genos Emotional Intelligence Recruitment Assessment is an 82-question assessment designed specifically for use in recruitment. Like our development assessment it measures of how often an individual demonstrates emotionally intelligent workplace behavior according to our seven-dimension model. However, it also includes measures designed to assess for over inflating, socially desirable responding and deliberate manipulation of responses by candidates making it ideal for recruitment purposes. Research has shown this measure to provide an accurate and reliable assessment of emotional intelligence in recruitment contexts.

What it is used for: To identify candidates with high levels of emotional intelligence, particularly when recruiting leaders, sales and customer service personnel.

How it is used: When recruiting front-line sales or customer service personnel most organizations use this assessment as a screening test at the commencement of the recruitment process. It is used to identify candidates suitable for interviewing. When recruiting middle to senior level leaders most organizations use this assessment toward the conclusion of the recruitment process to help them decide which of 3-5 suitable candidates to hire.

What it is: The Genos Front-line Leader Emotional Intelligence Development Assessment is a 29 question multi-rater (just self vs others) measure of how often an individual demonstrates core emotionally intelligent workplace behavior. It measures how often people demonstrate a simplified four skill model of emotional intelligence.

What it is used for: The development of emerging or front-line leaders.

How it is used: Most organizations use this assessment at the commencement of front-line leadership development programs to provide insight into current levels of emotional intelligence and how to improve it.
