This Hot Topic will examine what Emotional Intelligence (EI) really is and how it can improve motivation and engagement. To demonstrate the effectiveness and importance of EI in everyday management, a case study will be used.

You will also gain an insight into your own personal EI which will help strengthen and develop you as a manager. This Hot Topic will provide you with a practical take home personal development activity to help develop your EI.

Rebekka is the Network Services Manger for Genos, responsible for Client Services and support in the Asia Pacific region, and Distributor Services and support globally. She is committed to working within the learning and development industry - aspiring to help create workplace environments and relationships that are highly meaningful and passionate. Rebekka holds an undergraduate Bachelor of Science degree in psychology and a master’s degree in Organisational Psychology from University of Northumbria in Newcastle, UK.

Harrold has over ten years experience facilitating in the private and public sector organisations. He has facilitated leadership development at diploma, degree and graduate levels. Harrold leads projects to develop middle and senior managers on the job and off the job. He has provided consulting and coaching services to organisations across Australia, Asia and the Pacific.
