Product updates for 2026

We are planning some exciting enhancements to existing products and new products for 2026. Look out for our direct emails inviting you to showcase events for them in the New Year. For example, we will be releasing:

1. Enhanced Genos Digital Reports. Our digital reports will be significantly upgraded in 2026 so that people can more readily navigate their results; identify how to improve their EI from expertly curated content; and create a meaningful action plan. Optionally, people will be able to ask for AI analysis of their data and for recommended development steps.

2. Custom Surveys. We are currently working on transforming our world renowned, secure and ISO Certified surveys platform (Genos Surveys or GSS as we call it internally), into something you can create your own custom surveys with. Next year you’ll be able to set up and run all types of surveys using GSS such as program evaluation surveys, client Entry and Exit Surveys, engagement, organisational effectiveness and pulse surveys, and Net Promotor type surveys.

3. Genos Grow Leadership. A new product that utilises the tech from Grow however incorporates the Leadership Assessment into it. It works sequentially where a participant can unlock their feedback on a competency, conceptualise a development plan from curated development content and then implement their plan within a timeframe. Post the timeframe they can then unlock their next piece of feedback and repeat for each competency of our EI Leadership model. This product will be ideal for first time, frontline leader audiences across industries.

We have a number of other product releases and updates we’ll be making throughout the year and look forward to sharing them with you.

Applying Emotional Intelligence to Thrive This Festive Season

3 December 2025

The festive season provides a great opportunity for us to apply our emotional intelligence to connect with people, enhance relationships and create joy with others – in our workplaces, communities and homes. Being better at connecting with others and enhancing our close personal relationships also helps us thrive. Indeed Susan Pinkers work (see her Ted preso here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ptIecdCZ3dg) has shown us that the quality of how we connect with others is one of the strongest predictors of our own happiness, wellbeing and longevity. So, take the opportunity to set up your own (and others’), thriving in 2026 with a focus on this over the season.

Personally, I’ll be focusing on three interrelated actions. Approaching the holidays with greater empathy, mindful listening, and healthy curiosity, to create deeper, more meaningful experiences with the people I interact with.

Empathy: Meeting People Where They Are

Connecting with empathy is one of the most valuable gifts we can offer during the holidays. It’s the capacity to connect with feelings, to understand and appreciate the feelings of others and meaningfully respond to them.

Our biology and capacity for empathy can be intentionally engaged by slowing down (try taking a minute of box breathing before you meet with someone), setting an intention to connect, and demonstrating curiosity with great questions.

Presence as a Leadership Practice

One of the most powerful ways to demonstrate emotional intelligence is through mindful listening. With so many distractions competing for our attention, being fully present has become increasingly rare—and therefore increasingly meaningful.

Mindful listening means:

  • Putting aside devices, distractions, and internal chatter

  • Staying curious about what the other person is sharing

  • Not rushing to respond, or redirect

  • Giving someone the experience of being truly heard

During the festive season—when conversations can be many, and attention can be scattered—mindful listening becomes a leadership practice. It signals care, builds trust, and strengthens bonds. There are some great mindful listening guided mediations in the Smiling Mind meditation app – worth a listen.
